First Post

So this blog won't work until there is a post so here it is.

I have 7 weeks of school left and then I will finally -- after 9 years -- have a degree. But in my defense I already had an abbreviated career as a Telecommunications worker at Qwest and spent a year in tech school. It's kind of funny but I will be walking for graduation the weekend before finals. I suppose this is due to the number of schools at the U of MN and the fact that 10,000 or students are going to be graduating. It should be fun though. Thursday I'm going to Gradfest to get my cap and gown, order announcements, and complete an exit interview. Wow does it sound like it'll be a good time or what?.

I don't know how many people out there are in the same position I am, but being and undergrad at the age of 27 is a pain in the rear. I'd like to say I party like a rock star, but in all honesty, I've been more likely to stay at home Saturday night to work on home work then go out for the past two years. This is funny because partying is the reason I dropped out in the first place. After 2 years of college back in the 90's I had a 2.3 GPA and no clue what to do with myself... Oh well that was then now I have at least a 3.2 and a job lined up for after graduation.

My life should get much more interesting soon. I will be working as a Systems Analyst for a respected consulting firm. Due to all of the people getting fired over mentions of there work and employers I'm going to keep the name to myself and the name of any clients I do work for. Beyond that I hope to use this blog to talk about my experiences as a consultant traveling the world (or at least the US) and having (hopefully) some adventures along the way.

Before I start in July I may talk about some other things dealing with finishing school or the trip I am currently planning to take after graduation to France and Italy. Though at the present, I'm having trouble convincing any of my friends to go along. I guess they're all just a little to cheap to have any fun any more!
